Switchgrass

Does anyone still read this blog? If so, there's a good editorial in this month's Car and Driver that explains why switching from gas to ethanol to fuel cars isn't likely to take off any time soon. There's also an interesting article written by a former new car salesman explaining how to avoid getting ripped off through hidden costs when you buy a new car. Somewhere out there Weenie is cringing.

If anyone has any questions about "hidden" costs, please let me know. Some hidden costs are neither costs nor hidden while others are blatant screw jobs. Ill be more than happy to clear up any questions you may have.

ZOLTARD:I have a 2002 Miata with 15000 miles with your name all over it. Its robins egg blue with a tan top and tan leather interior.

As far as the article goes, its all very good advice. Although not all dealerships require all of the techniques described all of the time. When people come in after reading a "smart" article on the car business and try to put every newly acquired technique to use, the customer becomes more a fish out of water than before. I typically give the best deals to customers who have dealt with me before (contrary to what the article says,) friendsmank, and those customers who are comfortable with me making a reasonable but not excessive profit. There are tons of ways to "screw" somebody in a car deal, its important to find a dealer that is more focused on selling and, most importantly, maintaining customers over the long haul. I know this is turning into a shameless plug but if anyone is buying a car or wanting to buy a car dont feel bad if I don't have what you want. I'll help you out whether you buy it from me or some sinister snake in the big city.
